How to travel in style

style airport

Airport style has seriously upped its game in recent years, and dressing to impress as you travel is no longer simply for the rich and famous. If you’re jetting off on holiday you’ll want to ensure you look your best, but maintaining your style throughout an airport and the journey to follow can be a tricky look to navigate. Below we’ve listed out our top tips for men on how to travel in style.

Luggage

Depending on where you’re travelling and for how long, you want to think about the luggage you’re taking.

If you’re not checking in luggage, you’ll want a neat carry on bag or suitcase you can simply carry on and off the plane with you

Whether you take a leather hold-all, or opt for a small carry on suitcase you want to go for a colour that will suit most outfits you’re likely to wear. Browns and blacks, therefore, are the most popular colours of travel bags as they will suit most outfits easily.

You’ll want to keep a smaller bag for airplane essentials – your electronics, passport, and any items you want whilst you’re flying.

Accessories

Sunglasses and hats are great for your trip but an unnecessary addition at the airport. One, you’ll be inside, so will have no need for sunglasses, and, two, you will be asked to remove your hat at security. So, rather than mess up your hair, you’re best off stowing these accessories away for later in your trip.

More practical accessories to take with you are a travel wallet for your boarding card, passport and, if possible, phone and cash in the currency of the destination you’re travelling to.

Outfit

For your outfit, you want to make sure you’re travelling in something you’re comfortable in, which maintains your sense of style. Some great items to travel in are a loose shirt and chinos. Skip the belt as you’ll be sitting for so long and keep the shirt flowing over your trousers. Pair these with some shoes that you plan to wear out whilst on holiday, such as boat or desert shoes.

If you’re heading off to a hot place, consider putting some sandals or flip flops into your carry on luggage to quickly change into when you arrive. You can always add a jacket to your outfit if the location you’re travelling out from isn’t warm, but consider if you’ll want it whilst you’re away or if it’s extra baggage.

Once you have your travelling outfits sorted, you’ll have want to ensure you organise your activity at the airport so that you maintain your look of cool composure throughout your journey. If you’re flying out of Manchester airport, be sure to plan ahead book your parking in advance to ensure you can safely leave your car on the date you need. On top of planning your airport parking at Manchester, you’ll want to ensure you have all your liquids in one clear bag, which can fully fasten, and keep your boarding card and passport handy in your travel wallet.
