A Few Tips For This Fall
I know, I know… you’re probably not very happy about summer being gone. You can’t show off your leather bracelets you can’t roll up your pants and your shirts’ sleeves. So what CAN you do to show some style?
There are lots of things you can do. Each season has it’s own set of clothes you can wear, meaning that right now you get to wear a whole different range of clothes than you did for the past few months.
Did you notice the guy in the photo above? He put together a nice preppy outfit for this fall:
- a green v-neck
- a gray sports jacket
- a scarf
- a pair of cargo pants
The clothes in that picture are from ellos.co.uk (go to the site), by the way.
Which brings me to my first style tip for this fall: layering!
The only downside to a summer outfit is that it’s hard to wear several layers of clothes. Not anymore. Autumn and its cold temperatures are the perfect excuse to do so.
Wear a blazer or a sports jacket over a v-neck or a turtleneck, then add a scarf. This is one of the easiest way to layer – and it’s all based on versatile and fashionable items of clothing.
Here’s another example: a long-sleeved shirt + a waistcoat + a scarf = a nice way to layer if it’s relatively warm outside.
My second style tip: wear appropriate colors.
Summer was all about white and light colors. Now it’s time to think about earthy tones and darker shades.
Can you think of an autumn forest, with all the trees with their leaves falling? And the yellow, dark-red and brown colors on the leaves on the ground? try to blend in that picture by wearing the same colors.
And for my third fall style tip: wear colored socks.
I spoke about them before but think of the color matching possibilities. If you’re wearing a nice tweed sports jacket that has very thin burgundy and yellow stripes, can you guess what sock colors you can wear?
If you answered burgundy, yellow or both, you are absolutely right.
Stay stylish,
George
