Why Replica Watches are Bad
Clothing is an industry. There are literally thousands of clothing and accessories stores that are competing for our attention. Some of them are expensive and some of them are not (I discussed 10 great brands here so I won’t cover it here again) but there are others who aren’t so.. reputable.
Counterfeit clothes and accessories look just like the originals at an unbeatable price. Some of them are so good that even an expert can’t tell the difference between an original and a fake watch.
Some manufacturers got as far as using the exact same materials that the original brands are made of. Amazing, right?
If you’re a serious style student of mine then you know that quality is what matters. For the price you pay for a watch, you want it to be as exact as possible, to look as good as possible and to last as pong as possible.
If you’re like me and you weren’t born with a spoon in your mouth, you learned to manage your money carefully. When it’s time to buy a watch (or anything else), you think long and hard about which one to get.

So should you buy a knock-off watch, then?
My answer: definitely no. And I have several reasons to back it up.
First of all, knock-offs usually mean poor quality. Unless you’re an expert in watches, you risk of getting ripped of in a second. It’s easy to go: Hey, this watch is really cheap. And it’s a Rolex!
Don’t get fooled by that. Not all fake watch sellers will put really low prices because they sell fakes. Some will put higher prices (but not as high as the original) to make you THINK you’re getting the real deal.
Not a very good deal to spend a few thousands of dollars on a watch that’s worth 50 less.
The second reason is this: even if no one else will know that you’re wearing a fake, YOU will.
Ever saw a guy who w as wearing a black t-shirt that had D&G written on it, with big white letters? I don’t really need to tell you that those t-shirts are NOT made by D&G.
The point is: don’t be so obsessed with the brand that you’re willing to wear the logo and not the brand itself.
I (and this si strictly my personal opinion) could never wear a something that’s copying something else. Since the clothes and accessories that I wear represent me, I would feel a copy myself on the inside.
If you really want something bad but don’t have the money, go for pre-owned. For instance, you can find a some pre owned Rolex watches in specialized stores like the one in this link.
Pre-owned just means that some one has worn it before. It’s not that bad and definitely better than a knock-off, especially since they have been restored by experts to make them as good as new.
And if you can’t stand the idea of wearing what another man has worn, then I strongly recommend you find a no-name brand that makes quality watches. There are literally hundreds of Swiss watch manufacturers which makes watches of all shapes and sizes.
