Stretch Pants That Don’t Look Stretchy? The Real-World Innovation Behind birddogs Pants

I’m a big fan of athleisure. You want to make me more comfortable? Put in a bunch of new pockets designed for my life? Better for a round of golf? I’m all for it. But athleisure pants all had a big problem. They look like fake pants. Why? They use synthetic materials to achieve the stretch and versatility. And you can tell from the way they reflect light. They’re plasticky. So you can’t wear these pants to work or out to a nice dinner.

That is, until birddogs came around. They developed a stretch material that doesn’t use synthetics. It’s difficult, and it took years, but they did. It’s why they only sell a single pair of pants.

I gave them a try about a year ago and have since swapped out all my other pants. Why? They make my life easier. I don’t have to change. I just wear birddogs pants for everything. They’re as comfortable as my old favorite athleisure pants, but they look like real pants, so I wear them everywhere.

Based on their continual stock issues it seems like the rest of the US has caught on. I will note, their fits are ideal for those that are in shape. I guess that’s what happens when you have a brand based out of NYC.
