There is an abundance of running shoes on the market, making the search for the perfect pair quite difficult and daunting. But, as we become more conscious consumers and aware of the harsh realities of fast fashion, we realize our purchasing power and the direct effect our actions have on the planet.

As we make this shift towards sustainability, we recognize the importance of supporting and buying from brands that reflect our own personal ethos and values. That was exactly the case with the start of Zen Running Club. When three friends debated what a modern running brand should encompass it was evident that there was a gaping hole in the fitness market. The traditional products that allowed runners to successfully perform were a burden to the planet’s natural resources and built with synthetic, unnatural materials. The sustainable running shoes that were on the market, lacked style and proper functionality needed for success and pushing boundaries, and that’s where Zen Running Club comes in.

Zen Running Club

Zen Running Club was founded with a goal of putting sustainability at the heart of the brand. The founders are committed to replacing synthetic materials with plant based, raw-materials such as sugarcane, tree fibers, socially responsible rubber, and organic and recycled cotton. They are a proud partner to The Vegetarian Society, making the product fully vegan and cruelty free. Notably, the replacement of synthetic materials does not harm the functionality, excellence, or performance of the runner and instead demonstrates how far plant powered innovation can take us.

The ZR01 is engineered to be lightweight, fast, and responsive, with a stacked rocker midsole that helps propel you forward as you run– making any obstacle doable. The clean, minimalistic style is available in a range of colours, ensured to leave you stylish and fit for your next marathon. The shoes encapsulate a story of what it means to be a modern runner, while honouring nature and our impact. Highly functional, durable, lightweight and made from plants all come to together to create a revolutionary difference in each step.

Made from good decisions, the positioning of the shoe is a go-to, every day running shoe that pushes industry boundaries through style, innovation, and cutting-edge sustainable technologies. Revolutionize how you run and take a leap forward for the planet.

If you’ve been invited to a round of golf with colleagues, or you’re thinking of getting into golf, for relaxation or even for health reasons, if you’ve never set foot on a golf course before, you may be wondering what to wear. Obviously, we’ve all seen the professional golfers on the course in their expensive clothes, but what does the average person wear on the golf course. Here, we walk you through it.

Check the course rules

Firstly, some golf courses have strict dress codes, so it’s best to check their rules before you go out to buy your new golf clothing. Even if your course has no dress code, you’ll want to look the part – especially if you’re playing with business colleagues – if they’re all kitted up and you arrive in a T-Shirt and shorts, you’ll be uncomfortable from the get go – and that’s no way to start what should be a great trip out.

Trousers or Shorts

Whether you’re eying up a great pair of Galvin Green Trousers, or you’ve seen a great pair of shorts with a snazzy pattern that you think would look great on the course, it’s important to remember that shorts can lead to a dilemma surrounding socks, especially if your course has a rule on how much flesh should be on show. It may sound odd, but some clubs require you to only show the kneecap, whilst other allow short socks, but only if they’re white.

If in doubt what to wear, and for your first time, we’d suggest you go for a good quality pair of trousers – something akin to a chino style pair of trousers will serve you well.

Shoes or Trainers

Some courses don’t allow trainers, so you’ll have to check before you dig out your favourite pair of Adidas or Nikes. However, most golf shoes these days are almost indistinguishable from trainers, and many courses don’t mind. Just make sure they’re smart, and comfortable.

Shirt

Whilst the likes of Tiger Woods could get away with wearing a roll neck, for us non-celebrities, it is usually a smart collared shirt that’s preferred on the course. There is a plethora of options when it comes to colour and style, but again, check with the course what their requirements are.

Additions

A hat and sunglasses are often required, especially when playing in the summer months. Whilst not compulsory, the sun does often get in your eyes on the course, and these will help improve your game and reduce the glare, making it a more comfortable round. When it comes to hats, usually a cap will suffice, but do make sure you have the peak facing forwards.

With the tips above, and a quick phone call to check out the course rules – or a look at the website – you’re sure to arrive for your first round of golf without making any glaring errors, allowing you to start your game off on the right foot, no matter who you’re playing.

There’s a huge trend right now for guys which involves a lot of formal outfits and… I must say… I am one of those who got hooked up on it.
Pocket squares, slim ties, dress shirts, brogues – these are just a few of the fashion items that will make you stand out no matter what.

But, as humans, we get bored with almost anything. No matter how good the outfits are, we’re always looking to make changes. One of those changes is to find inspiration in casual outfits. Now this is a little trickier than it sounds.
You can’t just throw a pair of sweatpants over a dress shirt and get away with it. No, sir. You need to choose your clothing items very carefully because you don’t want to mix the wrong items together.

In what follows, I’m going to give you the fashion items that you might want to consider when refreshing your wardrobe as well as what items to pair them with. You need to be careful because not everything goes with everything.

Go casual

Among the many (and tricky) casual clothing items men wear, only a few of them can be safely and stylishly incorporated into a gentleman’s wardrobe. Here’s what you might want to look after the next time you go shopping:
• Hoodies
• Plimsolls and classic trainers
• Gilets
• Jumpers
• Jeans
• T-shirts
• Sweatshirts

You may already have some of these items, such as jeans and t-shirts. Whichever ones you don’t – think about each and every one of them because you won’t know which ones you like until you try them on.

Hoodies

Hoodies are what you might call the next big thing in men’s style. It’s not because they’re new or because David Beckham wear them, but because a few very stylish “prepsters” (common term used by those who are passionate about style and advocate the “preppy style”) decided to mix hoodies into their outfits.
Don’t underestimate an outfit with a hoodie in it. Some go even as far as wearing a dress shirt underneath them. While this may not be for you (it’s hard to pull off, I’ll give you that), there are plenty other ways to do it.
You can wear hoodies with chinos, jeans, t-shirts, polo shirts and even with v-neck or crewneck sweaters if they’re “full zip”. This will be a nice way to layer multiple colors and patterns.

One last piece of advice: always wear casual footwear with hoodies. As a rule of thumb, you should be wearing leather shoes with dress shirts and, unless you’re up for the hoodie + dress shirt combo, you should stick with sneakers, moccasins, boat shoes and other casual types of shoes.

Sweatshirts

While a sweatshirt is definitely not comparable to some of the formal and semi-formal fashion items you’re familiar with, wearing one can be an extremely welcome change.
However, to compensate for the fact that it’s so casual, you need to keep a few things in mind. First off, no logos. Since they’re not designed for the style-savvy man, a lot of them have these awful logos and writings on them.
The rule of thumb is, the simpler, the better.
The second thing you need to worry about with sweatshirts is color. Pick one that has a bolder color and make sure you match it with the rest of your outfit. A black sweatshirt isn’t something you’d want to wear most of the times. Remember we need color to compensate for the lack of formality on this item.

Plimsolls

If you’re tired of moccasins and other leather shoes, it’s probably time you tried something more comfortable. Luckily men’s fashion and style experts are ok with the idea of wearing plimsolls. You can even wear them with more formal fashion items (dress shirts, sports jackets, khakis) and formal accessories (ties, pocket squares, flat caps).

A very nice way to match plimsolls is with something from the upper part of your outfit. So let’s say you’re wearing a burgundy hoodie. How about matching it with a white plimsoll with a burgundy line on it? Something like this:

Of course, this kind of casual shoe isn’t fitted for sporting activities. When you go out to purchase running shoes, such as those from JD Sports, you can just as easily match those with your sporty outfits.
Running shoes have, more often than not, some crazy colors. But that’s the whole point: to mix and match those colors.

For instance, how would you match this pair of Nike Lunarglide?

Hint: look at the colors. You have an interesting combination of navy blue and light blue on it, as well as a gray Nike logo. I know I said logos are bad but it’s ok in case of sporty outfits.
How would you match this pair?

I’ve recently asked myself this question after I bought a pair of casual sneakers. A reader suggested that these were only good for jogging which made me a little angry. For two reasons:

First: I didn’t buy them for jogging but for a spring-summer casual look

Second: I don’t have a proper jogging equipment.

This second reason is what I want to discuss with you today. You see, when you go track running, you can’t afford to layer, you can’t wear leather shoes and accessories such as hats, ties or pendants are out of the question. So what CAN you wear?

Well, it depends on the season you’re in.

During the summer, a of shorts matched with a t-shirt, some low-cut socks and a pair of sneakers are all that you need.

But, here’s a secret for you. You can be a little more stylish than everyone else by doing one key thing. This will instantly give you extra style points, yet keep you sporty and ready to lose some weight.

Wear a polo shirt instead of a t-shirt.

Polo shirts are perfectly fine for sporting activities, yet they move you higher up the style scale. The only question is: how would you match them with your shorts and sneakers?

Color coordination rules remain the same, like I showed you in my Be Stylish Package. For instance…

Match this polo shirt with a pair of white 100% cotton shorts and white or blue sneakers:

Add a white canvas belt if you can and you have a very stylish jogging outfit.

And what about this one?

It can work well with your white shorts and a pair of white or dark blue sneakers.

Did you notice the pattern here? We’re taking whichever color is on the polo shirt and repeat it on the shorts and sneakers. Really easy.

Ok, last one:

You guessed it, right? You can wear shorts, sneakers and low-cut socks that have either gray or red on them.

OK, let’s consider autumn and spring. Temperatures are lower, you’ll be sweating a lot so you need something that will allow you to breathe yet prevent you from catching a cold.

All you have to do is replace the shorts with some long sleeved pants and add a long-sleeved top over your t-shirt. For instance, a top like this one will allow you the t-shirt underneath to be visible:

This all means you can now layer AND have more options to introduce new colors.

As a general rule, when you assemble your jogging outfit, stick to 3 colors max. You can’t layer, you can’t wear most accessories so be sure to stick with unusual colors.

By the way, these mens casual shirts photos have been added courtesy of JoeBrowns.co.uk.

Forget about black, white and blue. Do some color combos that no one on the track will be wearing. Who knows, you might get a sporty lady to “accidentally” bump into you on the track.
