Seven Critical Men Style Mistakes You Should Avoid

The whole purpose of dressing stylish is to convey that you are a high status, successful individual, who doesn’t give a damn about what others think about him. That’s why we are trying to express our individuality by unique combinations. But sometimes we can get it wrong. Sometimes terribly wrong.

So we need to know what to look out for. Because of that, I’ve compiled a list of seven of the most common men style’s errors, and ways to avoid them.

1. Not matching your belt with your shoes.

Look at the picture above. Words are needless. And this is one of the first style mistakes that women notice in men.
In the next picture I’ll show you how to do it:

2. Not wearing long enough dress socks at with dress pants.

The result? Everybody will be able to see your hairy calves. Plus, it’s not very stylish to pull your socks up every 5 minutes, when you are sitting down.

This is how it should look:

Not like this:

The picture above actually shows two mistakes: the socks are both too short and white. This is an instant turn off for women (remember that they notice those mistakes).

3. White socks with a suit

We are using the previous picture from the previous mistake. This should be carved in stones for generations to come: NEVER WEAR WHITE SOCKS WITH A SUIT! Simple as that.

4. Socks with sandals

This is a recipe for a style disaster. Actually, this is an understatement. It’s one of the worst crimes in fashion.

Computer programmers, engineers, and college professors are one of the “fans” of this “fashion statement”. Those guys already have a name for being socially inapt, and there is a long lasting cliché, when the first portrayal of one of them is with socks at sandals.

The looks you’re getting from people don’t necessarily mean you’re handsome. They simply see the BIG mistake you’re making.

And, by the way, they are increasingly becoming more and more popular in elderly men who hang around in parks and play backgammon.

Take a look at the pictures below.

5. Wearing clothes that are too loose

This conveys that you are too sloppy. Hip-hop artists are allowed to dress like this, if you have nothing to do with the hip hop genre/culture/subculture, don’t do it. It just doesn’t suit you.

Here is how you might end up looking like:

The first picture is a cartoon and it’s for laugh purposes, but the second one shows that even top athletes fall victims to this no-no (Ronaldinho for example)

6. Excessive bling bling (or excessive accessorizing)

Again, if you’re not a rap artist, there is no need to over bling yourself.Take a look at the next picture:

7. Pulling your pants too high

For crying out loud, pull your pants down. It’s very close to those guys in 4 the guys you saw at rule 4, that we talked about.I think the guiness Guinness world record is held by the gentleman right here:

So, men worldwide, beware of these mistakes, because they can cost you. Having a minimum common sense will help you avoid them. We’ll wrap it up here, I hope you enjoyed the article and find it useful.

great info but about the picture of the guy in brown belt and white shoes isn’t wrong at all IMO if you are really stylish u should know the rules and breaking them ‘rightfully what puts u aside(stylish).in the example above ….the rule there is to match ones shoe with belt, having this in mind. brown is a neutral u can match with any other color from the neutral family including white which is universal(can either be matched with neutrals and solids)only if they are in the same materials, as in leather-leather,fabric-fabric and its like.

Thanks for pointing that out, Midas. I changed toe pic to reflect a formal outfit. When it comes to formal dress, this rule should be obeyed.

In casual situations (like the one in the picture i removed) it all depends. If you have a pretty dull casual outfit, wearing white sneakers with a brown or black belt will make it look bad. Sure, if you have color repetition in that outfit will work but if the outfit is simple, the mismatch will become obvious.

If you’re a color matching master, not matching your belt with your shoes can be a great idea in casual outfits.

i very much agree with you George it is worth pointing out that color matching is flattering but should be introduced in casual situations.

That I knew, white socks could be worn with a suit if they are dress socks and not sport ones.
