If You Want a Watch, Make Sure It’s Swiss

breguet classique complications

Buying a watch is more than just the precision. Most watches today are very exact when it comes to telling time. The best part is, you can get them for pennies.

A watch is more than just an instrument to tell time. This is even more valid in today’s world when smartphones have stepped out of their vocal communication boundaries and have taken over time-telling as well (among other things).

A stylish watch might cost you a small fortune if you’re willing to pay it. But you usually get what you pay for.

Wanna know what my “secret watch” is? This one:

It’s a Breguet… And it costs A LOT (over $20,000).

Now I’m not here to tell you that you should spend a ridiculous amount of money on a watch. Even though i might do it someday.

When you buy a watch, I want you to consider only Swiss watches.

Swiss watches manufacturers have hundreds of years of tradition behind them. When you get a new watch, most connoisseurs will ask you Is it Swiss?

The competition between watch manufacturers is so harsh there that basically any item that comes from Swiss stores is ultra high quality.

You don’t have to pay dozens of thousands of dollars for a Breguet. I’m here to show you an excellent alternative, that’s nowhere near that expensive, yet not too cheap.

Meet the Breitling watch:

While Breitlings cost at around $3000 – $4000 a piece, it makes sense to buy one if you have the money and you’re really looking forward to wearing it with a well put together casual, business-casual or business outfit. The $3000 is an average, of course, as you can find lots of them under $2000 if you know where to look.

You can find Swiss Breitling watches with either metal or leather bracelets, depending on your taste. Needless to say, watches leather bracelets are more formal than metal bracelets.

The rule of thumb for incorporating watches is that you can wear either a metal or a leather band with casual outfits but you should stick to leather bands on formal occasions.

This, by the way, is a Breitling Montbrillant Brown. pretty cool-looking, huh?

The purchase

So here’s what I recommend if you set your mind on a Breitling watch.

First, take a good look inside your wardrobe to figure out how you’ll match your new watch with your other accessories.

A watch with a silver band will work well with other accessories in silver, stainless steel, white gold and so on.

A watch with a black leather band will go well with black belts, black or grey shoes and black leather bracelets.

Naturally, a watch with a brown leather band will work well with brown leather bracelets gold tie-clips and other gold jewelry.

Step 2 is to look at as may Breitling watches as you can and see which one looks best. Chrono24.com has lots of good deals on Breitling watches as they have hundreds of them. That website is a good place to start.

Step 3 is to filter those watches whose case is not good for your wrist. If you’re a sturdy fellow, get a watch with a bigger case to fit your big wrists. If, on the other had, you have thinner wrists, get a watch with a smaller case.

That’s as far as I can take you. From now on it’s up to you to to find your perfect watch.

Good luck!
