5 Fitness Tips To Exercising “Smart”!
Do you want to exercise smart? We probably all do. Take a look at some of our tips below that can help you work out in the smartest and healthiest of ways. Here’s to being a gym nerd!
The Truth About Workout Times
Most people only need to work out for about 30 minutes at a time, preferably five days out of the week, in order to stay in great shape. Throwing that five-day figure out there might sound a bit intimidating at first to any of you fitness newbies! But 30 minutes is not so bad!
Get in your 20 minutes of cardio and then 10 minutes on a couple of strength training machines and you’re good to go!
Workout in the Morning
Workout out in the morning if at all possible. Exercising in the morning will actually help your body run more efficiently all day. It will help you think more clearly and effectively at work. And, morning workouts can help you burn more calories throughout the entire day! Kind of a win-win situation! Try it out.

Drink Water
Water is just as good for you as any of the fancy fitness beverages you see down the aisles.
Sure, it’s great to sometimes get a few extra electrolytes thrown into the mix, but your tried and true H2O is all you really need to spring your body through pretty much any solid fitness session.
Find Some Great Music for Your Workout
Music that is motivating to you will add so much to the quality of your workout. Find some music that you really like that energizes you every time you listen to it. This kind of music will make working out more fun so you will enjoy the healthy experience more (this is especially great for the occasional one out there who is just trying to dive into the fitness world and needs some motivation!).
Good music can also add more life to your actual workout, causing you to intensify your activity and therefore burn even more calories.
Be Selective of Your Workouts!
Do not step on the treadmill.
… If you hate the treadmill. Forget about wasting your time doing workouts that you literally can’t stand. Some people just get incredibly bored with jogging on a treadmill without an end goal in mind. There are lots of people who are born runners and enjoy to run just for the sake of running. For them, the treadmill is great! But if you have other interests, don’t waste your gym membership on a machine that will eventually kill all of your motivation. In this day and age, there are so many other ways to exercise!
Join the Zumba class if you like dance, kickboxing if you are rather fierce, or maybe go all out of bounds and get your workout on in a martial arts dojo! Exercise is supposed to be fun and invigorating.
So don’t get stuck in an exercise style that you don’t enjoy!
